Question : What can I do to speed my recovery from exercise? I heard drinking chocolate milk can be more effective than drinking expensive protein-drinks.
Answer : Ah, you've hit on my favorite post-workout drink! I love chocolate milk, but not just because it's yummy, but also because it's the perfect drink for readying your body for recovery after a hard weight workout!
However, my absolute favorite post-workout drink is - by far - chocolate milk. Why?
Chocolate milk is a great source of quality protein, a readily-available energy source, and good, healthy fats. It has loads of vitamins and minerals, too. Your body will literally suck up all the nutrition provided by the chocolate milk and make it available to your muscle cells for quick repair and growth.
I suggest you drink 16-32 ounces of the liquid gold immediately after your workout: Use the upper end if you're trying to build muscle and gain weight, the lower end if you're trying to cut body fat and maintain muscle size. There's absolutely no need to add anything whatsoever to the milk, either. It's perfect, as is.
