Can't Gain Weight? Try This

If you can't gain weight through your bodybuilding program, you are not alone. There are many folks, men especially, who want to gain muscle weight but can't. It's likely that you aren't eating enough, despite your efforts at doing so.

In fact, if you're not gaining weight, you AREN'T eating enough. It's a simple equation -- eat more than your body needs to maintain its weight and you will gain weight. Period.

Of course, you want to gain rock-hard solid muscle with as little fat as possible. But if you're a hardgainer, you probably could stand to gain a little body fat. As your lean muscle weight increases, your fat stores could increase and your body fat percentage may actually fall. Again, it's simple math.

What isn't so simple is getting into a weight gain program that works and then sticking to it. If you check out my site, Muscle-Build.com, you'll find many helpful articles on how to gain muscle size through proper exercise, diet, and nutritional supplements.

You certainly don't need the supplements, but they will make it easier for you to consume enough to get into a positive caloric balance. You also want to increase your protein intake -- odds are, your sugar (carb) and fat intake is higher than they should be and your protein level is below where it should be. In terms of calories, the ratio should be 50-30-20 (carbs-protein-fat).

At the very least, you'll want to get a high-quality weight gain powder. Add 500 calories per day to your maintenance caloric intake and you'll begin to see results in a few weeks.

Make sure you don't overtrain, too. Remember, when you're trying to gain weight, you want to do LESS, not MORE. Check out Hardgainer's Manifesto for a prescription on how to bulk up quickly without adding unnecessary body fat. It's a short report.

If you're persistent (stick to a program for at least 3 months before you ditch it), get adequate rest, eat a lot, and workout smart, you will gain weight. It's easier said than done, but it's entireley possible, even for the hardest of hardgainers.

I know. I did it. Perennially underweight, I cracked the code. I can show you how to build the body you want, too. I share my knowledge at Muscle-Build.com.
